How to Use Hair Pins
When first using U-shaped hair pins, try a simple style such as a chignon bun. Put the hair into a ponytail, then wrap the hair around into a bun shape and push the pins into place. The trick is - when inserting the hair pins - weave them in and out through the hair as you're inserting them (through the bun part of the style), and then turn them inward towards the middle of the chignon, pushing into the scalp hair for hold.
The main thing to remember when using hair pins is to weave them in and out through the hair that will be held up, then turn the pin toward the main scalp hair to secure it.
